Competitive E-Scooter Preparation Step by Step: Guide to Modifications and Innovations by Ambrosini e-Racing

When preparing a competition e-scooter (or e-scooter racing), the temptation to boost power immediately is strong. However, it's crucial to understand that the best approach starts with the stability and efficiency of the vehicle, not just sheer power. The first essential step in preparing an e-scooter racing is optimizing the foundation: the frame and structural components. In particular, the steering column and handlebar must be the starting points.

Why Start with the Frame?

When working on a competition e-scooter or e-scooter racing, the stability and rigidity of the frame are essential. An optimized frame provides la foundation per a scooter that responds quickly to commands without sacrificing safety or control, especially during crucial race moments.

En el nostre desenvolupament de processament, un key aspect ha de eliminar els necessaris punts de flexibilitat. A scooter with too many added components risks having more play and more wear. Ambrosini e-Racing starts right here: «less is more

Steering Column and Handlebar: The First Key Modification

A crucial aspect when preparing a competition e-scooter is the steering components. The steering column and the handlebar among the most important elements to optimize. A l'imprescisió system de steering o lack of rigidity severely impacts performance on the track.

🔧 The modification we recommend for this first step involves the steering column and the handlebar. Too many assembled parts, screws, and unnecessary joints are not the right approach for a race e-scooter. It should no become a “Lego” with multiples elements an excessive number of screws because each additional part can be a potential point of failure. Instead, the aim is to create a monolithic structure to redueix any possible mechanical play and increase overall rigidity.

The Key Modification: Aluminum Steering Column with Carbon Handlebar

After testing various materials like carbon, aluminum, and titanium, we developed a final kit combining the aluminum steering column and carbon handlebar, designed to maximize rigidity and lightness. Aquest kit és designat perfectly respond to race conditions and deliver excellent performance in every situation.

A decisiu element of this modification is the simplified structure: the kit features just two mounting points. Aquests eliminats need for additional joints and unnecessary fastenings, reducing el nombre de screws and superfluous components. Each part of the kit is designed to ensure maximum stability and reliability while riding, without compromising lightness. Therefore, there no és necessari per a structure similar a «Lego,» where each part is separated by screws and redundant components.

Another important consideration is the overall weight of the kit, specifically engineered to improve front-end stability and traction of the scooter. The combination of aluminum and carbon offers the ideal balanç between rigidity and lightness, enhancing the scooter's overall performance during arrels.

Finally, the two mounting points must be secured using high-resistance screws, designed to withstand the mechanical stress on the track. grade 10.9 screws for optimal strength.

Choosing the Right Steering Column Height

The choice of steering column height is crucial to ensure the pilot adopts the ideal position during competitions. This choice depends on the pilot's height and riding style. Per exemple, a rider who prefers a more aggressive approach might need a lower steering column, while a rider looking for more confort might opt for a taller one.

If you have any doubts about the correct steering column height for your riding style, feel free to contact us. We'll help you choose perfect height per optimal performance and maximum safety.

Ambrosini e-Racing's Less is More Philosophy

Unlike a «Lego» assembly, where each part is added without a real need, a competition e-scooter requereixes a careful selection of components. Every single element must have a specific function and contribueix a improving performance overall, sense complicació de la structure unnecessarily.

Ambrosini e-Racing has won many arrels applying this preparation philosophy, even against e-scooters with powers up to three times higher. For instance, at the Spanish Championship stage in Múrcia, Javi Espinosa, our coach and current pilot in the Eskootr Championship (ESC), overcame more powerful e-scooters with stability issues. Similarly, Jordi Gaya, Spanish Xelectrics National Champion 2024, earned several podis, defeating more powerful e-scooters with less stable frames and steering systems.

«Power Without Control Is Counterproductive»

We've proven that a well-optimized e-scooter racing, with solid and stable frame, can beat scooters with greater power but poor stability. As the famous saying goes, «power without control és counterproductive,» and Ambrosini e-Racing has made this philosophy its banner.
